There are a lot of hoopla will come out of Detroit this week with some 500 new cars and trucks model debuted at the North American International Auto Show. But what features one has yet to dawn on the automotive industry that will last night and surefire commercial success, causing millions of baby boomers rushed out and lined up for a vehicle with this feature?
Windshields could end blues-recipe “I can’t drive at night” once and for all. And while none of those new car or truck models sport glass recipe, however, that doesn’t mean the idea was out of consideration by the world’s major auto design thoughts, most of which I suspect was 25 years old and have 20/20 vision.
Expensive? Only if the auto industry requires that it be. Remember, it’s not the lens but the frame at which raise the cost of glasses. You pay for the design; glass is glass. And besides, since when cost considerations in a midlife crisis? A 55-year-old man who bought the Corvette will rejoice at the opportunity to spend an extra couple of grand if it meant leaving his Bifocals at home.
